This is the 1st wreath design. It will be a silhouette of a vanity(which you can see now) and 2 girls and 1 boy.
Its being stitched on 8 1/2 x 12 in perforated clear plastic. The plastic is a bit hard to move around, but nice not to HAVE TO use a hoop.

This is one of my WIP. I’m stitching for a friend that likes Japanese anime. Its called “Pillar” since that’s the name of the character.
I designed this on my computer w/Digistitch software. The pattern is 11 in x 15 in and I picked a dark blue 14ct aida cloth. I think I might have made the pattern a bit complicated w/SO many colors, but I’m making it work.

I just discovered how to add pages to my blog. That’s SO cool.
Now, I can keep the DIY cross stitch designs and the wreath designs together, but seperate.
Not a whole lot there either, but at least I know where to put stuff when I’m ready. LOL.
I went to Hobby Lobby today (woohoo!!) and bought some more DMC 310 (black) thread. Thought I had a million of that, but discovered otherwise. Kinda hard to stitch silhouettes w/o black.
I plan to work on my WIPs this afternoon before the boys and I go to church. Maybe I can get a bit more stitched and hopefully have an example before 3/15.
The hubby and I are going to Vegas for Spring Break, so won’t be bringing biz stuff w/me, obviously.

Well…had my appointment w/the SBDC this morning. My counselor was VERY excited about my current ideas and progress. “Even stitching one row a day is something!” LOL.
I purchased a new book last Saturday @ Barnes and Noble, “Craft, Inc.” about making your hobby a biz. It has some great ideas and gave me ALOT of encouragement. It also gave a list of other bizs, groups, etc. to help.
One site it gave is called www.etsy.com. Kinda like ebay, but mostly for homemade crafts and quite a bit cheaper to start up. I’m really thinking to set up an account and see what sells, once I actually get some examples done.
The wreath idea is coming along. Still working on the bathroom silhouette.

I’ve pretty much decided to focus my efforts on designing cross stitch silhouettes for grapevine wreaths.
I think I can make the wreaths to fit any decor w/a nice design and coordinated ribbon-simple, yet elegant. I’m still working on the prices, but think $15 is reasonable.
I’m working on a sample. It will be a 10in wreath with the design of a vanity and 2 girls and 1 boy trying to use it at the same time. I’m demo-ing for a friend w/twin girls and 1 big brother.
It takes time and that’s been hard the last week since I’ve been sick. Oh well.
