Just for fun… October 22, 2009

This has nothing to do with xstitch, but thought it would be fun.  :-)   Friend of mine did this too.

These can be LOTS of fun… Type your first name preceded by the word “unfortunately” into Google and see what comes up.

Unfortunately, Wendy gets busted, the cops are called, and by the time she is able to pay her way out of jail and make it back to the grocery store, Lucy is gone.

Unfortunately Wendy is unable to retain legal aid and is looking for financial donations. ($$ is always good)

Unfortunately Wendy is probably better known for the nude portfolio she did for Playboy.  (not hardly; LOL)

Unfortunately, Wendy will not be going to prison over the donation scandal.  (YEA!!)

Unfortunately, Wendy faces conflict between her job and her friends, as a giant zombie pike is infecting people with crazed undead desire for fish, keeping her from Lacey’s performance

Mid-Oct. Musings October 18, 2009

Hello all!!

I’m almost halfway done w/the 30 mini-bookmarks!!  YEA!!  Yes, only halfway…gotta fit it around everything else I’m doing.  LOL.  Luckily, its not a rush job/anything.

Got some happy news today…one of my patterns, “Pick Me Up”, was bought via www.patternsonline.com!!  I’ve been stalking, I mean, looking faithfully everyday to see if any have been purchased and trying not to get discouraged.  Thanks God!!

I’ve also been brainstorming on the stamped xstitch idea, but think I need different software to do it.  My current stuff won’t print out the X’s in a way that will work.  Oh well.  The hubby has offered that we can put some $$ from next year’s tax return into the biz, so maybe it can go to that.  The yudu screen printer would be nice, but useless, if the software won’t do what I want.  Maybe year after next.  :-)

Well, off to get some dinner started and church.

New networking site October 8, 2009

Found this cool networking site today, www.stitchersvillage.com.  Haven’t really had a chance to do some in-depth searching…yet.

Got some new ideas… October 7, 2009

I’m still in the planning stages, BUT…I’ve noticed on alot of the message boards that most designers are worried about getting newer/younger stitchers.

SO, I started thinking about what I enjoyed as a little girl and some cool ideas came to me.  I’m trying to work out designing aspects, but it’ll turn out awesomely.  :-)

Stay turned for more details.

Exciting start for October!! October 2, 2009

First, yesterday, 12 of my xstitch designs were posted on patternsonline.com for purchase!!  YEA!!!  Yesterday also gave another opportunity to order custom bookmarks from Coat Closet Designs-1 new one, so far.  :-)

Today is a rare afternoon w/no movie work to do, so, I had lunch w/the hubby and we got to REALLY discuss my biz and ideas I have for it.

I’m trying to figure out how to advertise Coat Closet Designs more on my VERY limited budget and ways to make some more $$.  I’ve come back to a previous idea of offering stamped xstitch charts, in addition to counted xstitch.  We went to Micheal’s to see if we could get some info about their sales of stamped vs. counted were.  We didn’t get anything extremely useful, but it was a try.  We looked at the yudu screen printer ($300) and I think it would really open up some more options.  I also have a couple of teen girls @ church that have expressed an interest in learning to xstitch, so I’m trying to figure out a way to do that w/all the other stuff I “have to” do.

Gonna have to pray on it and see if God hooks me up w/a way to do it w/o ALOT of $$.
